Interview with Sekaiyu (Ayabe)
What part of your baths or facilities are you most proud of?
The bathroom walls are made of mosaic tiles, allowing you to enjoy the Iguana Falls (men's bath) and the Matterhorn (women's bath). The baths are also designed for easy walking. There is also a sauna room that can accommodate up to eight people (men's bath only).
What do you especially want first-time visitors to enjoy here?
The key features of this bath include a spacious lounge and a large TV, allowing you to relax after your bath.
Any history or unique commitment about this bathhouse we should know?
We were one of the first in Tokyo to install a sauna in May 1967.
Are there seasonal or time-of-day ways to enjoy this place?
During the summer (July to September), the regular rock bath area is turned into lukewarm water, allowing you to bathe while cooling off from the heat of your body.
Why do regulars keep coming back, in your opinion?
Easy access from Takadanobaba and Shimo-Ochiai stations, and a facility structure that is easy for people of all ages and genders to use (barrier-free)
